Creating interesting and beautiful sculpture from crude heavy metal components is fascinating work. Depending on it's nature and scope, a project may require many many hours of research, creative thought, and problem solving. In addition, a Chris Williams original masterpiece such as those in progress on these pages represents thousands of tasks and steps, including cutting, punching, shaping, grinding, and of course welding. Many of Chris's larger pieces can take months to complete and their commissioners often ask about the progress. On the pages in this section of IronWorksofArt.com we give you a glimps into the exciting process of bringing a sculpture to life. We hope you enjoy these images and artists side-notes and we welcome your comments and enquries. |
